Note:
In this monumental work by Roberto Juarez precisely fragmented squares read as the allocated spaces of The Periodic Table of Elements or a calendar. Juarez’s use of mixed and unconventional media, namely peat moss, creates a textural quality. The artist developed a technique that involved sifting peat moss into a fine powder, which was then sprinkled over his prepared substrate.
