Note:

While Natkin studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, he became interested in Post-Impressionist and Abstract Expressionist painting. The Apollo Series, named after the mythological sun god was a pivotal series referring to the radiance of the paintings and the "visual vibrato" Natkin created by the use of the various vertical bands of colours applied.
