According to the consignor, these works were purchased in the 1980’s in Rochester, New York from a gallery run by the daughter of the artist

The painting: The Memorial Art Gallery of Rochester, Twenty First Annual Exhibition of Rochester Art, March, 1934 sent from the artist’s address: RFD- Fairport, New York to the label verso

The artist was the first American to receive insulin in Canada as it was not yet approved for sale and distribution
