Carrying a basket of peonies in one hand and a branch of flowers in the other, the standing figure dressed in long robes with swirling cloud patterns, her hair pulled into an elaborate top knot and fastened with pins and peony blooms. Affixed to wood stand

The Estate of Harry Handel (1916-1972), owner of Everyman’s Bookshop in Montreal. Purchased during the 1950’s at the Gurie Gallery, thence by descent within the family.
