Rhinoceros Horn Carved Cup, 16th/17th Century
Decorated with similar designs throughout, the exterior finely carved with lotus flowers and leaves along the curving sides rising towards the foliate rim and the motif continuing along the interior rendered to mimic a lotus pad, the whole raised on a network of scrolling vines forming a reticulated base, the horn of warm chocolate and caramel tones. Carved wood stand with designs of prunus flowers and rockery

Mr Hanna was a railway executive who became the president of Canadian National Railways in 1919, maintaining his position until 1922, when he was appointed the first chairman of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO).
