Sybil Luna Moses Dangoor was the granddaughter of David Sassoon (1792-1864), the head of the distinguished Sassoon family. The Sassoon family business was one of the most successful international trading operations in the world, establishing its ties with the East in the early 19th century. The family business was extended from Mumbai to Shanghai by the mid 19th century.

The current lot was bequeathed by Sybil Dangoor to her daughter Rose, who has lived in Montreal since the 1970s.

沙逊家族（Sassoon family），是一个具有伊拉克犹太人血統的国际知名家族，原本以巴格达為根據地，後來遷移至印度孟買，再擴散至中國、英國及世界各地。雖然其起源並未十分明確，但一般認為他們具有中世紀安達魯斯地區最富有家族之一的伊本·秀珊（Ibn Shoshans）家族的血統。自18世紀開始，沙逊家族便成為全世界最富有家族之一，經營的事業領域擴及亞洲大陸各地。

款识：大痴画平淡天真，其经营位置无不在人意中，然意在机先，气随心运，是可解不可能处，此则出人意表者也，故四家同为董巨嫡派，而门庭施设，大痴迫然不同，非具格外学识，漫为点染，必有隔膜之消，余故表而出之以质之识者。康熙甲午春日于万寿园馆中画并题。王原祁，年七十有三。

周梦公；周庆云（1864-1934），别号梦坡，浙江乌程人，一生收藏书画，金石，古器颇丰，善诗词，绘画，书法尤以小楷精到。

王原祁（1642～1715）

字茂京，號麓臺、石師道人，江蘇太倉人。王時敏孫。康熙九年進士，官至戶部侍郎，人稱王司農。以畫供奉內廷。擅畫山水，繼承家法，學元四家，以黃公望為宗，承董其昌及王時敏之學。山水面目格局影響後世，弟子頗多，形成婁東派，與王時敏、王鑒、王翚合稱“四王”，加上吳歷、惲壽平又稱“清六家”。
