Sybil Luna Moses Dangoor was the granddaughter of David Sassoon (1792-1864), the head of the distinguished Sassoon family. The Sassoon family business was one of the most successful international trading operations in the world, establishing its ties with the East in the early 19th century. The family business was extended from Mumbai to Shanghai by the mid 19th century.
The current lot was bequeathed by Sybil Dangoor to her daughter Rose, who has lived in Montreal since the 1970s.

沙逊家族（Sassoon family），是一个具有伊拉克犹太人血統的国际知名家族，原本以巴格达為根據地，後來遷移至印度孟買，再擴散至中國、英國及世界各地。雖然其起源並未十分明確，但一般認為他們具有中世紀安達魯斯地區最富有家族之一的伊本·秀珊（Ibn Shoshans）家族的血統。自18世紀開始，沙逊家族便成為全世界最富有家族之一，經營的事業領域擴及亞洲大陸各地。

王步(1898--1968)
字仁元，號竹溪，晚年所作青花瓷及中國畫常署“陶青老人”，江西豐城縣人。從一九零七年來到景德鎮至一九六八年病逝，從事陶瓷美術工作長達六十余年，生平創作釉下、釉上、堆雕、刻花瓷器數以萬計，尤精於青花。
