Note:

The subject is Harold William James, a painter and member of The Arts and Letters Club.  He was a good friend and painted with Bush around Haliburton and Belfountain. There are portraits of Mr. James by Bush in the collections of the Art Gallery of Ontario and the Art Gallery of Algoma in Sault Ste. Marie.

This work will be included in the forthcoming Jack Bush Paintings: A Catalogue Raisonné by art historian, curator, and Director of the Jack Bush Catalogue Raisonné, Dr. Sarah Stanners.
