Between 1905 and 1910, many Canadians who studied in France at that time would absorb the tenets of Impressionism which they used to render paintings of Europe as well as of Canada. Among them were Caroline Armington (1875-1939) and Frank Armington, William Henry Clapp, Clarence Gagnon and A.Y. Jackson.
