  • CARLOS (1976-) AND JASON (1981-) SANCHEZ
Provenance:

Private Collection, Toronto

Note:

Carlos and Jason Sanchez are a Montreal-based duo famous for their large scale, cinematographic images. Carlos and Jason co-direct their dramatic photographs, meticulously choosing each setting and cast. Their works are psychologically complex and ambiguous -  showing only the most interesting part of the story and allowing the viewer to create their own story narrative. Whether it be an exploding bomb in the middle of a street (The Everyday) or a loving moment between an elderly couple (The Last Embrace), Carlos and Jason inject intense emotion into their viewers. Their photographs are included in the collections of San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the National Gallery of Canada and in various private collections.
