Scott Everingham is a painter based in Toronto. Holding a BFA from NSCAD and an MA from the University of Waterloo, Everingham is a three-time finalist in the RBC Canadian Painting Competition and is the recipient of numerous awards from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Toronto Arts Council.

In his own words, Everingham discusses his process, “I work on one painting at a time. A lot of my previous work was heavily influenced by what I was reading. I would create a body of work based on a text or fictional novel and the paintings would become like short stories too. Now, I’m not interested in tying my paintings together with a narrative. I’m more interested in tying them together with the process, the colour and paint itself.” Everingham immediately engages the viewer with the process of his work, unfinished objects and gestures scatter across the canvas drawing the viewer to his deftly constructed vision suggesting both an environment built and yet to be built.
