Note:

Susanna Heller’s unique relationship to New York City is expressed through her dense and energized paintings of buildings, monuments, sidewalks and aerial views of New York and its boroughs. She views the city as an animated character and is compelled to capture, in pencil and paint, its vibrancy, space, and above all, its movement.

Heller, an American-born Canadian immigrant, has an extensive exhibition history in North America and beyond and is a recipient of numerous awards from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council as well as the National Endowment for the Arts. Her works are included in major collections such as The Air Canada Corporation (Montreal), the Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto), the Canada Council Art Bank (Ottawa) and the Toronto Dominion Bank as well as in many private collections around the world. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
