Note:

Founded at Newgate Street in London,Christ's Hospital was established as a school in November 1552 at the instigation of King Edward VI, his patronage confirmed by Royal Charter on the 26th June, 1553, eleven days before his death

CONDITION DETAILS

Each engraved with inscriptions; smaller medallion has been previously mounted as a pin; the same apparently not marked; the larger medallion and quill are both well marked, 1843 and 1844 respectively
