Note:

Carl Poul Petersen left Denmark in 1929 with his wife, Inger Jensen, and emigrated to Canada

A large bowl chased with a similar design, but without the coral cabochons found on this earlier vase, is in the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts

Engraved with inscriptions 14-7-45 / Ellen og Mester and 9-10-77 / Inger og Peter; minor dents and possible repairs at the rims; otherwise in good condition; well marked under the base
