THE SMOKER AT THE WINDOW, CIRCA 1667 [HOLLSTEIN, 10: IV/IV]

Etching on wove paper; signed in the plate on the window sill bottom centre. The fifth and final state (of five). Titled and inscribed in pencil in French in an unknown hand, with blue ink stamp of Victor Sieger (Lugt, 2377) verso. Matted and unframed.
Plate/Sheet, trimmed to or just outside platemark 7.7" x 6" — 19.5 x 15.3 cm.; 8.1" x 6.1" — 20.6 x 15.5 cm.
