CHRIST ON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES (FROM THE LARGE PASSION), CIRCA 1497 [BARTSCH, 6; POSSIBLY MEDER, 117:D-F]

Woodcut on laid paper signed with monogram in the plate bottom centre laid down on a stiff paper support; black block printed collector’s mark on reverse of the mounting sheet, recorded in [Lugt, 546], after the 1511 edition without text, possibly the Augsburg edition with the crack in the plate up to St. Peter’s beard
Trimmed to the platemark 15.2" x 10.9" — 38.5 x 27.7 cm.
