Note:
In 1950, influenced by the art of Alfred Pellan and les Automatistes, Dumouchel was prompted to create a naturalistic and poetic aesthetic. The most evocative example of this visual poetic lyricism [is] certainly Let the Earth Bring Forth, [c.] 1951. Here, flora and fauna arise from dreamlike landscapes suggested by atmospheric shades of grey obtained by a subtle wash of soft coating on the metal plate.
