“Four very popular canvas of Montreal streets, Indians, and habitants playing cards were lithographed by A. Borum of Munich during 1847, for which Krieghoff received between five and six hundred pounds. This series, dedicated to Lord Elgin, was published his patronage. [...] Krieghoff actively championed good prints for the home where all could enjoy their moral and cultural benefits.”
