Note:

This lot is accompanied by a typed description dated May 3rd, 1976 by A.J. Birkenmayer, Toronto, where the examiner observed the watermark in the paper and provided a facsimile ink drawing of the mark on the label. The paper dating from 1461 to 1490 is identified as German made, and the type of 15th century paper common in Bremen, Bielefeld, Cologne, Lubeck, Marburg, Metz, Osnabruck, and Wolbeck,(Westphalia) as recorded on the label mounted to the backboard verso.
