Pomerol

Another outstanding success in a vintage that was very strong for Pomerol, the 2008 exhibits notes of plum sauce, raspberries, licorice and a hint of toasty oak. Surprisingly powerful for the vintage, the wine is medium to full-bodied with sweet tannin and a long finish. Drink it over the next 10-12 years. 92 WA

This elegant, dark ruby/purple-colored 1998 exhibits aromas of lead pencil, blackberries, black raspberries, licorice, and vanillin. Deep, rich, and full-bodied, with excellent ripeness, beautiful symmetry as well as harmony, and moderate tannin in the finish, it will be at its best between 2002-2016. 90 WA 93 WS
