The brothers Arthur and Richard Appleby traded in British drawings and watercolours from 27 William IV Street, Trafalgar Square, London. The Appleby family sold large collections of British material which collectors of the day used to trawl through.

In 2010 and 2011, Christie’s sold in a series of sales, the remaining collection of old master paintings, watercolours and topographical drawings held by the company
