“The Princess, a chestnut filly, was bred by Lord Jersey, in 1841, and is by Slane, out of sister to Cobweb (foaled in 1820), by Phantom, her dam Filagree, by Soothsayer, out of Web [...]
In 1843, then two years old made her debut at Doncaster... In 1844, at Epsom, the Princess, ridden by Butler, won the Oaks, beating Lord Exeter’s Merope.”
