Watercolour over pencil on heavy paper; certified, titled and dated “Around 1945” by the artist’s son, Arif Chugthai in 2016 in Lahore, Pakistan and stamped by the Chughtai Museum Trust, Lahore, Pakistan verso. Unframed.

Note:

The artist’s son relates, “My father got married in the 1940s and was looking forward to children. At that time a number of works related to children were made including this work of a Young Boy. Chughtai executed a series of studies of young boys both in watercolour as well as etchings. The young boy in this work is wearing a Turkish Fez which was widely used at that time.”
