Note:

Fritz Thalow, the Norwegian Impressionist painter was born in Christiania, a freetown within the city of Copenhagen. He was a brother-in-law to Paul Gauguin and a close friend of Claude Monet. Thaulow was deeply influenced by the French Impressionists and Post Impressionists. He lived in France from 1892 until his death in 1906.
