Parr’s work is distinguished by his direct and rugged designs. Encouraged to draw by Terry Ryan in 1960, Parr could no longer sustain himself as a hunter due to age and poor health. In drawing, he and his wife Eleeshushe found not just a means of expression but also a way to support themselves.
