Lot Report

Note:

Considered one of Canada’s foremost Inuit artists, Oonark created magnificent wall hangings of every size, including the unparalleled 12’ x 19’ tapestry which hangs in the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. Her lovely placemat sized textiles are no less captivating. This one has strong female imagery indicated by the tattooed face and ulu shapes, and a connection to the natural world with the four attentive birds.
