About artist/note:

This unsigned portrait is a detail of Lawrence’s original full-length portrait commissioned in 1822. It was the last of Lawrence’s striking portraits of King George IV, the original being held in the Wallace Collection, London.

The universally known satirical rhyme Georgie Porgie, pudding and pie, kissed the girls and made them cry, when the boys came out to play, Georgie Porgie ran away was composed for this flamboyant king.
