THE LITTLE POOL, 1861 [KENNEDY, 74 (VIII/VIII); WEDMORE, 72]

Etching and drypoint printed in black ink on cream coloured paper with vertical laid lines, the bottom of the sheet with partial watermark with countermark upper case letters "JH & Z" below a partial shield with legs of a lion and an "X" shape in the bottom centre of the shield, signed and dated 1861 (diagonally) in the plate mid left; titled and inscribed in pencil to margin. Matted and unframed.

The sheet is countermarked with the initials JH & Z, for Jan Honig and Zoonen, a firm of papermakers operating in Zaandijk, north of Amsterdam.
