THE DUBIOUS BERNINI, 1962

Colour offset lithograph; signed and signed 'Russell' with his annotation: “This proof, one of 6 specials, is for Veysie and Mollie with affectionate greetings of warmest good wishes", and dated on “22.8.62”. Proof aside from the edition of 750 published by the Medici Society in 1962.

The original watercolour executed in 1960, measuring 20.15" x 27.25" (51 x 69.2 cm.), was considered one of Sir William Russell Flint's finer works. It was later published as a signed, limited edition print in an edition of 750 in 1962.
