FOLIO: EXPEDITIONS (POEMS BY MARGARET ATWOOD), WINTER, 1965/66

Containing 8 lithographs by Pachter on BFK Rives watermarked, folded sheets with text poems by Atwood, with tissue guards between each print. Each poem by Atwood illustrated by Pachter including descriptive titles: “This is a photograph of me (Atwood) (The photograph was taken the day after I drowned...)”; “Camera”; “Some Objects of Wood and Stone”; “Pebbles”; “Carved Animals”; “The Islands”; “Through the wilderness of the flesh”; and “These Expeditions have no end”. The front titlepage and colophon pages on handmade linen, cotton, dry grass and hair paper made by Pachter. The colophon: signed and numbered 5/15 by Pachter in black ink. All contained in a blue cloth hardcover folio.

The poems by Atwood were realized during the winter of 1965-66. The poems were handwritten, transferred onto aluminum plates, and then printed simultaneously with the lithographs by Pachter on the left hand side.
