HAROLD SAMPSON PFEIFFER (1908-1997)
Note:
Harold Pfeiffer, an accomplished Canadian portrait sculptor, made it his mission to complete bronze portraits of native people from Canada, Alaska, Greenland and Siberia before they were irrevocably changed by contact with modern civilization. With single minded determination and a seemingly limitless appetite for new experiences, he achieved his goal.
The Harold Pfeiffer Collection of Inuit art was sold at Waddington's in November 1998.
