Note:

Born on November 23, 1849 in Batavia, Ohio, Milleson resided in Indianapolis from 1878 to 1895 and then moved to Boston, Massachusetts in 1895. By 1900 he was in Chicago where he studied in J. Francis Smith’s Academy. In 1903 he had his first painting accepted for exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago; he was to show eighteen works there between 1903 and 1915. While in residence in Boston, Milleson was a member of the Boston Art Club and in Chicago he became a member of the Chicago Society of Artists.
