Provenance:

Private Collection, Ontario

Exhibited:

93rd Annual Exhibition, Ontario Society of Artists, 1965.

Note:

While this work is titled on a label on the reverse, it is likely of Benagalbón, Spain.

Kathleen Daly was a consummate traveller, taking sketching and painting trips across Canada and Europe. In 1955, Daly and her husband, artist George Pepper, spent a year sketching and painting as they travelled through Spain and Morocco. Smooth, creamy brushstrokes characterize Daly’s scene of the crisp blue sky and white houses of Benagalbón near the southern coast of Spain.
