Note:

On his death in 1807, Mohawk military and political leader Captain Joseph Brant (Thayendanegea) willed his farm ‘at the Mohawk village in the District of Niagara, on the east side of the Grand River’ to his son Joseph ‘John’ Brant (Tekarihogen), who in turn leased it back to his mother Catherine Brant (Ahdohwahgeseon), who returned to live there for the remainder of her life.
