Note:
The Rolex SkyRocket was made in the 1940’s exclusively for the Canadian market, aimed at the military service. The movements and dials were mated by Rolex with Canadian cases made by the Id and Pioneer watch case companies to avoid import duties. The watches are found in steel, silver and gold-filled cases, but were never produced in gold cases. Although not specifically assigned by the Canadian military, the watch was an immensely popular gift for servicemen and aviators, and thousands traveled overseas with Canadian soldiers. In 1942, the watch retailed for about $37.
